TRUMP SIGNS ORDER TO RE-ESTABLISH NATIONAL SPACE COUNCIL

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to re-establish the National Space Council in a bid to coordinate commercial, technological and national security opportunities for the country, NASA said in a statement issued on Saturday.

The council existed previously from 1989-1993, and a version of it also existed as the National Aeronautics and Space Council from 1958-1973."I am pleased that President Trump has signed an executive order re-establishing the National Space Council," said Robert Lightfoot, acting NASA Administrator.The directive to re-launch the council was part of the promise by Trump's presidential campaign. Vice President Mike Pence announced in March that he would chair the reinstated council."Today's (Friday) announcement sends a clear signal to the world that we are restoring America's proud legacy of leadership in space," Trump said after signing the order. 

"Our Vice President cares very deeply about space policy, and for good reason. Space exploration is not only essential to our character as a nation, but also our economy and our great nation's security," he added.

BOLLYWOOD ACTRESS GETS INJURED ON THE SHOOTING SPOT

B-Town actress Prachi Desai gets injured on the sets of Kosha. The Rock On 2 fame actress was shooting for her upcoming film Kosha in one of the sets in Mumbai, and the scene demanded the actress to jump over with supporting ropes from a two-storey building and she had to land on the ground and chase a car. The actress convinced the director that she would be doing the stunt by herself and while doing the stunt, the actress fell to the ground and suffered severe injuries. Prachi Desai was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was given first aid and reports say that the actress will be on bed rest for next two days post which she will be back again to the sets of Kosha to finish her last schedule of the film.

Xiaomi launches Google Tez-powered payment service

Chinese handset maker Xiaomi on Wednesday introduced a new payment service, powered by Google Tez, on its e-commerce platform Mi.com and Mi Store app.Users can now make cashless transactions on both Mi.com and the Mi Store app as Google Tez payments service operates atop the Unified Payments Interface (UPI)."As a merchant partner for Tez for business programme, all Xiaomi customers can now seamlessly and securely pay with any bank account stored in their Tez account on their phone," Sujith Narayanan, Head of Partnerships and Business Development, Tez, said in a statement.Users can pay directly from their bank accounts online for any purchase that they make, further cementing Xiaomi's commitment to contribute to the "Digital India" initiative."Our vision is to bring innovation to everyone and our integration with Tez is another step forward in this direction.
