UBER LAUNCHES 'DRIVER PROFILE' TO GAIN RIDER'S TRUST






  In a bid to bridge the trust deficit berween a rider and driver, cab-hailing app Uber on Tuesday announced a new 'Driver Profile' feature to detail who the man behind the wheel is.

"At Uber, we are introducing a way for riders to know their driver partners better. We believe it will have a positive impact on furthering trust between riders and driver partners," said Apurva Dalal, Head of Engineering, Uber India, in a statement.

Meanwhile, driver partners can customise their profile by adding personal information like the languages they speak, hometown, city recommendation and even a fun fact about themselves. 
Riders, on the other hand, can now learn more about the person behind the wheel by tapping on the photo.

There have been some incidents in the past where riders have reported bad experiences with drivers.

Jiah Khan suicide case trial hearing pushed to 28 February

Jiahkhan The trial for Bollywood actress Jiah Khan's suicide case was supposed to begin on 21 February. However, the hearing did not take place as Judge KD Shirbhate was on leave, reports DNA. Sooraj Pancholi, who is charged of abetment, was also present at the court with his lawyer Prashant Patil.Representing Rabya Khan, Jiah's mother, lawyer Swapnil Ambure marked his presence along with the public prosecutor and a CBI official. The report states that the prosecution was asked to submit a list of witnesses so that they could be summoned in court. However, Patil said that the list couldn't be submitted due the absence of the judge. He told the publication that the next hearing has been posted for 28 February. A source close to the Pancholis has also revealed to DNA that they want Rabya to be physically present in all the hearings. Apple likely to acquire music recognition app Shazam

Apple iphone  Apple is reportedly acquiring popular music recognition app Shazam for a likely sum of nearly $400 million, media reported. According to a report in TechCrunch on Saturday, the iPhone maker may officially announce the deal on Monday. "One source describes the deal as in the nine figures; another puts it at around $401 million. We are still asking around," the report said. Built by Shazam Entertainment Ltd, a British app development company, Shazam is used by hundreds of millions of people each month to instantly identify music that's playing and see what others are discovering.
