INDIAN MARKET OF KEY EQUITY INDICES RAISED IN EARLY SESSION

The US Federal Reserve has increased its key interest rate and subsequently launched key Indian equity market indicators on Thursday. The Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE, which had closed at 31,155.91 points on Wednesday, opened higher at 31,222.89 points. Minutes into trading, it was quoting at 31,150.96 points, down by 4.95 points, or 0.02 per cent. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 51-scrip Nifty, which had closed at 9,618.15 points, was quoting at 9,608.25 points, down by 9.90 points or 0.10 per cent.

US Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised the benchmark interest rates for the fourth time since December 2015 and unveiled plan to start trimming its balance sheet. The Indian equity markets on Wednesday provisionally closed on a flat-to-positive note on the back of healthy wholesale price index (WPI) data and buying in capital goods, oil and gas as well as energy stocks. The Sensex was up by 52.42 points or 0.17 per cent at the Wednesday's closing. In the day's trade, the barometer 30-scrip sensitive index had touched a high of 31,190.36 points and a low of 31,054.94 points. The Nifty too was up by 11.25 points or 0.12 per cent.

On Thursday, Asian indices were showing a negative trend. Japan's Nikkei 225 was trading in red, down by 0.43 per cent, Hang Seng down by 1.09 percent while South Korea's Kospi was also down by 0.70 per cent. China's Shanghai Composite index was quoting in red, down by 0.05 per cent. Nasdaq closed in red, down by 0.41 per cent while FTSE 100 was down by 0.35 per cent at the closing on Wednesday.

B-Town actress Prachi Desai gets injured on the sets of Kosha. The Rock On 2 fame actress was shooting for her upcoming film Kosha in one of the sets in Mumbai, and the scene demanded the actress to jump over with supporting ropes from a two-storey building and she had to land on the ground and chase a car. The actress convinced the director that she would be doing the stunt by herself and while doing the stunt, the actress fell to the ground and suffered severe injuries. Prachi Desai was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was given first aid and reports say that the actress will be on bed rest for next two days post which she will be back again to the sets of Kosha to finish her last schedule of the film.

Google delays white Pixel 2 orders by a month

Google has delayed the delivery of some of its newly-launched white Pixel 2 devices by up to a month as it is having a hard time keeping the smartphone in stock."Some people who ordered a white Pixel 2 and received an estimated ship date of late October are receiving emails saying their order has been delayed by up to a month," a report in The Verge said late Monday.To make up for the delay, Google is now offering these customers a free Live Case, which normally sell for $40.Based on Reddit reports, the issue is limited to the 64GB model of the white Pixel 2 thatA -- along with nearly every other model -- remained out of stock or on a multi-week delay from Google's online store.In India, Pixel 2 is priced at Rs 61,000 for the 64GB variant.The pre-orders commence from October 26. The devices will be available in over 1,000 stores across the country and on Flipkart, starting November 1.

INFOSYS NAMES TVS CAPITAL EXECUTIVE AS DIRECTOR

Infosys Ltd appointed TVS Capital Funds Ltd Vice-Chairman D. Sundaram as an independent director on its board, the software major announced on Saturday."Sundaram is appointed as independent director with effect from July 14 on the recommendation of the company's nomination and remuneration committee of the board," said the IT giant in a statement here after a regulatory filing on the BSE. A fellow of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, the Chennai-based honcho was Vice-Chairman of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, the Indian arm of the Dutch-British transnational consumer goods firm Unilever Group, which he joined in 1975."Sundaram brings extensive experience in the field of finance and strategy execution. I am sure the board will benefit from his expertise," said Infosys Chairman R. Seshasayee in the statement.
