INFOSYS READY TO APPOINT 20 THOUSAND NEW JOBS

Infosys, the second-largest IT services company in the country in the recent past, has come to the fore with a fresh look. It is getting ready to appoint 20,000 personnel in the current financial year. The company will announce that 20,000 people will be recruited this year, despite the fact that it has eliminated 400 people last year, "said PV Rao.After meeting with Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, COO Praveen Rao told reporters that they were removing 300-400 people every year. Infosys, the second largest software exporter in the country, will create more jobs. Infosys co-chairman Ravi Venkatesan also attended the meeting. Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has refused to respond to comments on senior jobs to give job-free junior level job opportunities. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the TCS recruited 2.5 lakh people in the last three years and will add another 20,000 new jobs this year.

INFOSYS NAMES TVS CAPITAL EXECUTIVE AS DIRECTOR

Infosys Ltd appointed TVS Capital Funds Ltd Vice-Chairman D. Sundaram as an independent director on its board, the software major announced on Saturday."Sundaram is appointed as independent director with effect from July 14 on the recommendation of the company's nomination and remuneration committee of the board," said the IT giant in a statement here after a regulatory filing on the BSE. A fellow of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, the Chennai-based honcho was Vice-Chairman of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, the Indian arm of the Dutch-British transnational consumer goods firm Unilever Group, which he joined in 1975."Sundaram brings extensive experience in the field of finance and strategy execution.
